My Palm Pilot could prove to be one of the best trades I’ve made in some time. I estimate that, since it makes it easier for me to track my time, I could easily bill $100 more a week. This adds up to slightly over $5,000 a year. That’s a pretty good return on $300 investment.
Posted by Ted at January 2, 2004 9:20 PMIn one of your earlier entries you mentioned using your Palm for notes. I routinely make notes of various job duties, saving on the company server. When finished, I then copy the note into my Palm Pilot. Works like a charm.
Also, the address book comes in very handy. I really like being able to have up to 15 different categoies for addresses and for notes. The address book comes in handy in that I can attach a note to it. This works well with putting in driving directions.
Also, there is a program you can purchase for the Palm that is called 'Documents to Go'. It will take your Micosoft Word and Excel docs and sync them to your palm. Whenever you update the doc on your computer it will update into the Palm whenever you resync. Not bad.
Also, you can get a small folding keyboard for the Palm. I've never seen it, but I understand it works well.

I have yet to populate the address book. I'm finding the timekeeping very userful. My next software addition will be for tracking passwords. That will make it much easier to keep track of all the passwords clients use.
I use the Graffitti2 and find it useful, but I make a lot of mistakes and have to reletter many letters. I understand that had to change the Graffitti because of a lawsuite from someone. It seems they stole the original Graffitti from someone else.
