This is a picture of my first car! Yes. It’s a Corvair. This is one of the slides I had scanned.
As I recall, it was a 1963 Corvair. It had a stick shift and I ADDED seat belts to it. Cars in that day had the mounting hardware, but they were an option. After purchasing the car used, I went out, bought seat belts, and installed them myself.
Was I ahead of my time or what?
Posted by Ted at February 6, 2005 8:27 PMI remember this car very well. A friend of mine had one when we were in collage. He would drive me to UMBC and back in 1967. I didn't get my first car until 1969 (Chevy Nova).
