We have two large flowerboxes we bought many years ago. They fit perfectly on our side porch. They are plastic, but were the color of terra cotta. We painted them to match the color of the house and they go well on the side porch. For the last few years, we’ve grown yellow begonias in them. But last year, the begonias did not do well. I think it’s become too shady for them. This year we bought fuschia's and planted them. The Fuschia’s were pretty good-sized plants, so we have nice flowers already. This is a shot one of the plants.
Posted by The Vorlon at June 12, 2006 8:00 AMThey look great! For years I had a 'wandering Jew', 'spider plant', and 'colias'. I'd leave them outside during the summer, then take them to work during the winter. They did very well. I wonder if you could bring them inside during the winter?
Posted by: reborrell at June 12, 2006 10:44 AMThey'll be too big. The pots are about 30" long, 14" wide and about 14" deep. I'll just let the frost kill them off this fall and get new ones next year. As it is, we have more plants inside the house than we really need, but that's not within my control.
