I was sitting at my desk this morning when I received a call from the Vorlon Parents. They were in a medical supply store buying a pair of support hose from me.
It turns out buying support hose is more complicated than buying a pair of socks. The quickly put the manager on the line and asked questions about how tight I wanted I wanted them. I told him I didn’t have a clue.
He asked me to give the circumference of my calf and ankle. We rummaged around the office until we found a tape measure. I put my leg up on the desk, pulled up my pant leg and my sock down and had the Vorlon Assistant measure the salient points and transferred data points to the guy on the phone.
So now, I have a pair in the mail to me.
I thank the Vorlon Parents.
I did my 1-mile hobble with the Vorlon Wife tonight. It hurts to walk and I don’t walk very well.
I’m just not looking forward to another treatment on Friday. But I think it’s something I need to do.
I’m off to bed.

Posted by: Mom and Dad at September 13, 2006 9:53 PMI can only imagine how much you wish you didn't have to face another chemo treatment. I will be offering my support and prayers for you; that it will be magical in that you will not suffer so many consequences. It's very good that you're brave enoough to face all the challenges that appear to be your means to well-being. I so hope you do well in the treatment. Basically, it's everything you don't truly believe in isn't it? It seems as though you have always honored your body and the strength that was provided to you, and chose never to damage it through artificial drugs or chemicals of any kind. Ironic, that now you must choose this path to obtain wellness again. I believe there is a bright light at the end of this tunnel for you. God watches over you always, and we must believe this is His plan for you and that He will make you well again. Please be strong enough to continue your battle. I don't have too much strength myself, but I offer all I can to you to be healthy and strong again. I believe it will happen Ted. My best always.
Ruth
P.S. How very dear of your parents to find a gentleman that would be patient and help you get the correct size for your support hose (on the phone no less). That doesn't happen everyday. Let's hear it for your parents, and a fine merchandiser. They are good - very good.
