I think the blood transfusion as helped. When I came up the stairs tonight, I didn’t get so out of breath as is the normal case.
That said, I feel tired. With the higher red cell count, I have better aerobic capacity, but I’m feeling a little flush in the face and really ready for bed.
I’ve started to wear my compression hose again as I’m getting more swelling in my feet, ankles and calves.
I’m off to bed.
Posted by The Vorlon at October 18, 2006 8:40 PMHey, you rather sound like me. I get flushed in the face all the time. Especially when I get my hot flashes. Then it's all over! Time to rip the clothes off! (Hopefully I'm at home getting ready for bed when this happens.)

The flushness is very common with transfusions. You might even experience a warm sensation while receiving it. Afterwards you will be tired and worn out, but then, should recover with renewed energy.
