I did pretty well today. Actually, it was the best I’ve felt in quite a while. I even out for a 1-mile walk. That proved to be a bigger challenge than I expected. I was hobbling right along – until I hit the half-mile mark. Then I started run out of gas.
I should have called the Vorlon Wife to come get me, but knew she was going to her workout. I figured she would pass right by me and I would flag her down and beg for a ride home.
As time went one my pace got slower and slower. I was down to my survival shuffle, with a half block to go. That’s when I saw Blue Velvet, with the Vorlon Wife inside, roll up to a stop. She just gave me my marching orders. She told me to pull my compression hose out of the washer and pull the baked potatoes out of the oven.
At last, I made it home.
Now I’m off to bed.

I agree with your Mom about blue velvet taking you home. I like the name Danny Boy.
I hope that today will be a better day for you. The cold weather hurts me how about you? Gloria said for me to say HELLO!! Take care see you soon.

Posted by: Doris Bertolino at October 24, 2006 1:11 PMHi Ted, Just reviewed your msg re: new dog.
Suggest you be prepared to return it to the shelter should it show more signs of biting or nipping, even from fear. Biting dogs are no good regardless of other good qualities. Last thing you need is a dog that's unpredictable around new people! Plenty of good dogs out there to choose from. Be patient and get the right one for you.
Posted by: Von Goodemoot at October 24, 2006 4:38 PMYou know I could agree. However....what the writer fail to tell us was how far was he from home? Did he tell the Blue velvet that he needed help? We have seen the Vorlon shuffle on many occasions. So how would Blue Velvet know that Vorlon was struggling? Hmmmm...That is something to think about. On the Other hand I think the Vorlon is AWESOME. It shows his strength and his determination not to let anything or anyone get him down. I pray each day that God would heal him. God Bless.
Posted by: Vorlon Assistant at October 24, 2006 4:44 PMI would have thought that the Vorlon wife would have the powers to immediately 'beam you' home. Is she slipping?
Posted by: reborrell at October 25, 2006 8:40 AMVon,
Your point is well taken. However, I think that once he settles down, he'll be OK. When we had him out, he just shook with fear. Still I'm not a dog psychologist. There is is possibility he might never settle down.
OK. In my defense, I was going in the opposite direction. The Vorlon was only a few houses from home and by the time I would have turned around, he would have been home. He did not wave me down and he hardly acknowledged my presence. On past occassions, when asking the Vorlon if he needed help, I got a sarcastic comment that he didn't need help.
About the dog. We do not know if we will get him. The pound does not have possession of him as the owner has another day to claim him. Danny Boy is one of several names we were thinking of. I rather like Rusty or Rambo.
The Vorlon Wife.

I am very proud of you for setting us straight in the walk that Ted took. He left out the important information. I am so sorry that I jumped to conclusions. I also know of the out burst because that was the way my husband would be when I would ask if I could help.
God Bless
