The Vorlon Dog had his sex life change operation today. He’s very lethargic and obviously not feeling well. They tell us not to let him run and jump.
I guess we’ll have to carry him up and down stairs.
I feel really sorry for him, as he seems to be suffering so much. They tell still not to feed him until tomorrow morning. He probably doesn’t feel much like eating anyway.
Posted by The Vorlon at November 3, 2006 8:35 PMNot so much suffering but going through those stages of the anesthesia working its way out of his system. So his lethargy is just that which is a good thing because the sting of the surgery is also lessened in this in-between time.
He'll be back on all four paws momentarily and happier than ever. He can now focus on his new family instead of creating new puppies which is probably what caused him to go missing in the first place.
It is my understanding that it takes a bit of time for the hormones to clear his system, so he still needs to be kept close and not allowed to follow the scent of his natural instincts. The vet probably told you this already though.
Have fun!

Actually the vet told us very little. But we have a rule, he never goes outside the house without his leash.
Posted by: Ted at November 4, 2006 3:03 PMWell the complications that you mention are probably making him a bit tender and unhappy - looking toward to bigger picture he will be fine and you won't have to worry about him going missing on you.
I've not had experience with anything other than puppies and the vet telling us that it takes a bit of time for the hormones to work their way out of their systems. That makes sense to me. Have had vets tell me the same thing about cats as well.
As I'm posting this message I see the visitor count is 24,999...I just might be 25,000!
Take care...and enjoy Danny Boy!

I will say that 25,000 is really something - and you know that each of them care very much for you and pray for your full recovery. Congratulations on having so many family and friends that are on your side. Awesome indeed! Ruth
