The Vorlon had a rough night last night. He was awake at 2:00am and didn’t go back to sleep until 2:45. He was in his hospital bed on the sun porch with me on the sofa bed. He wondered why I was not sleeping next to him. The sun porch was rearranged to accommodate the hospital bed and he seemed confused about where he was.
He started out drinking plenty of liquids this morning then took a nap for most of the afternoon. He had some more confusion upon waking up. He wasn’t very hungry but drank his Boost.
I put him down on the sofa bed and pulled the hospital bed over next to him. I hope that will help him feel more secure.
I wish I had better new to report but there will be ups and downs. Pray for a better day tomorrow.
Vorlon news from the Vorlon Wife
Karol,
You are both always in our hearts and prayers. If there is anything we can do, we are here.
One thing we learned the hard way recently, is that if you have a hospital bed, it's not a bad idea to get an egg crate mattress cover (if you don't have one already). It is much more comfortable, and lessens the chances of sores.
We couldn't get a single, and ended up getting a double and cutting it to the size of the bed which worked fine.

I am enjoying your blogs very much. It saddens me very much to hear he is having a bad day but they are to be expected. You and Cheryl sound like very good friends and care givers. Ted is very lucky to have you both. Shutting down the business must be very hard for you after all these years of accumulation. May the good Lord be with you both in your time of need. The hospital bed will make things much easier for you.
God bless and take care of yourself

Karol- I got your phone message. Call me either here at the office or at home when it is a good time for you. Phyllis E
Posted by: Phyllis E at February 12, 2007 3:13 PMDear Karol,
Please don't be sorry about any news you share with us. We are so grateful to you for taking on one more job to keep us informed. All I can think of is how difficult this must be for you. Your heart must be very heavy to know your most intelligent and dear husband is now struggling in ways you never thought possible. You're certainly the most wonderful Vorlon Wife. All of us are just deeply grateful that Ted has you to help him and understand his fears and confusion, and provide the most loving care to him during this most difficult time in your lives. Moving the hospital bed closer to the sofa - that's such a wonderful idea. I'm sure he will feel comforted by that Karol.
Again, just know that sharing good days or bad days is what friends are for. And, that is what all of your readers are. Friends - who deeply care for both of you. I'm sure all of us feel the same way, if only we could do more for you. God Bless You and Ted and all the kind folks that are lending their help to you and Ted. Our loving prayers will continue night and day. We pray that God continues to provide strength to you Karol, and that Ted is peaceful and without too much pain. My loving thoughts and prayers. Ruth
