I went to my new job today. It was more of an orientation interview. I start on Wednesday. The office manager needs to clear up some of her work before she will be able to train me.
I talked with the Supervisor also. He took me through the warehouse. They provide boxes for produce. They have a lot of farmers as clients.
I was going to use the weed whacker but it needed charging. I watered my plants, did some laundry and fixed my sofa. The arm was weak and someone picked it up by the weak arm and broke it. I glued yesterday and used some C clamps to hold it in place. I left the drill out yesterday so I could work on it today. I put a couple steel brackets on the sides of the arms. It seems to be strong and sturdy. The bracket is hidden by the pillow and the other side of the arm is not visible unless you bend down over the side.
I decided to miter the molding. I cut one end but need to re-measure so I can do the other end and then I’ll do the sides.
I tried to pay my car insurance online but they had to get back to me because they had to process the dropping of Dasher 1. I didn’t hear from them and I realized they had my old email address. I went in and changed it but didn’t have the information with me so I’ll have to pay it tomorrow.
Danny is ready for bed and so am I.
News from the Vorlon Wife.
Once again, I can only say that I am awed by your skills. If you decide you don't like office work, I'm sure that any building contractor would hire you in a heartbeat. Were you doing all these things when Ted was still with you, or, have you just had to buckle down and learn all of this? Whatever - I can almost see your husband smiling and giving you the "thumbs up" sign. I am convinced as I've never been before that you and the Lord are certainly walking hand in hand.
How did Danny Boy do today with his ear drops? He's smart and knows when to stay out of sight.
He sure has also had a lot to deal with these last few months. However, together I just have the feeling you are one tough pair and can wade through all the marshes you need to to get the job done.
May the Lord Bless and Keep you Karol. And, again, I'm just so proud of you. You could teach all of us a few lessons on several different topics. Sincerely, Ruth
Posted by: Ruth at April 30, 2007 11:11 PMHi ruth, I always enjoy your comments. I feel the warmth of my friends looking out for me. Ted and I did a lot of projects together. I grew up in the middle of two brothers and we would build a train platform for Christmas. We would hammer, saw, drill and wire. I usually played the part of the gopher but learned to use the tools. When we moved into this house, Ted had the stereo wires draped over the mouldings of the door ways and along the floor. I got out the drill and found a large bit to drill a couple holes in the floor so I could run the wires for the speakers through the basement and up to the receiver. When Ted got home he saw the drill and large bit and wondered what in the world was she drilling with that? I guess I started using the drill to hang curtain rods. It was easier to screw in the brackets.
