I feel rather disappointed tonight. I was going to post my new photo of the back yard and for some reason, my last several photos are vides recording. I have no idea how that happened and I don’t know if I can just take the photo off the video. The video starts out as a nice photo of the back yard or a flower and proceeds to show my feet and the ground and what ever else the camera was pointing at between shot. What a bummer.

Danny Boy went to doggie daycare today. He will be going back tomorrow because the company is having a safety meeting with pizza for lunch. Danny likes it at Erica’s. He likes her collies. He gets to interact with other dogs. I put his blankey in the igloo and he pulls it out and plays with it. He also likes to eat his treats on it.

I took some orders today and it was quite busy just before lunch. The rest of the afternoon was rather boring with not much to do. I was able to balance the nature club checkbook. I take work with me to do while I don’t have anything to do.

I enjoy doing the blog. It’s my contact with the outside world. I enjoy the comments and it is wonderful to know how many people care. Keep the comments coming.

I’ll try to get a photo out there.

Karol--I did the exact same thing with my camera! I thought I was taking still pictures and I wound up taking videos. Here's what we did wrong. I have a Canon Powershot, but they are all similiar. On the back of the camera, right above the view window, there is a little wheel. That wheel controls whether you take pictures or videos. You want to rotate the wheel to rest on the "camera" icon. If you keep rotating it, there is a "video camera" icon. Before you take pictures, make sure you have it on the camera icon. I haven't been able to figure out if we can get a still shot from the video, but if anyone knows, please post it. Anyway, glad you enjoy keeping the blog because we enjoy reading it! Best, Karen

I used my daughters digital last night. Someone wanted more pictures of the motorhome we are trying to sell. I am hoping I didn't delete some pictures as she took a lot yesterday for a project she is working on in Delaware. Dumb me - I won a camera two years ago and gave it to the grandson! Now I find I do need one.

Keep posting, we will keep reading.

Karol,

I've done the same thing before. I don't think once you've created a video, you can just pull off a single frame as a photo, without special equipment.

Also, I've done something else. I have a 'sports' photo feature on my camera. If I have it set and press the button it shoots over 16 photos in a few seconds. There's no indiciation (noise wise) when this happens. I later pull up the photo and discover I have 16 of (almost) the same image.

I made that mistake a few weeks back and ruined several hours of cemetery tombstone photography. I had to go back last week and redo properly.

It takes time to figure everything out. Reading the manual and experimenting does help, but you really have to put an afternoon aside just for that in order to get the hang of it.

Good morning Karol,

I know "nada" about digital cameras. Definitely not my area of expertise. In fact, I haven't really figured out if I have an area of expertise. Oh well.

Thank you for continuing the blog and assuring me that you enjoy doing it. That matters to me that you aren't doing it as merely an obligation to us.

I absolutely loved the picture of Danny Boy playing. He just looks so troubled with life doesn't he?? Ha Ha I think the Doggie Day Care is to Danny Boy what the blog is to you. A way to stay connected to the outside world. He is such a darling puppy.

I think you're wonderful in a myriad of ways. Thanks again, Your blog buddy, Ruth
