I searched the internet looking for jobs and found on at a hospital near where I want to move in PA. I sent an email with my resume. The job is an HR position and sounds very much like the HR work I did for the South Jersey Hospital. I called the girls I worked with there to see if they’d give me a reference. They were glad to.

I looked at clothes I could use for interviewing and thought I’d like a pale blue blouse to go with my outfits. I went down to Boscov’s but could only find pale turquoise. I picked out two and made another run around the ladies departments when I phone rang. It was Ted’s client. They ran into a problem. My cell was breaking up and I almost ran outside with the blouses. I left them at the counter with the saleslady and went outside to get better reception. I wasn’t able to help them on the phone so I told them I was at the mall which is half way to the clients. I went back in the store to pay for my blouses then went to the clients. I was there about 15 minutes training them on how to fix the problem they were having. Their sister is not doing well. Keep Karen in your prayers. She is not responsive. She is in rehab but they can’t do much for her. I hope and pray she improves. It is very hard on the family.

I stopped at the farm stand to get more corn and a cantaloupe. Danny ate his dog food and went upstairs. He came running down when he smelled my corn cooking. He jumped in the air woofing at me as if he was jumping for joy. He loves it. When I take my dish to the counter, he thinks I’m done and goes back upstairs. I was able to eat my second ear in peace.

He ears seem to be better. I’m only going to do them once a week now. If he starts scratching them, I’ll go back to twice daily. He has been walked and is now back upstairs in bed. He is like Ted. He likes to switch sides on the bed. He keeps me guessing.

Hi Karol,

Your blouse story reminded me of a similar "hoist" I made in a department store once. I had looked at a sweater and I liked it so-so. I tucked it under my arm so I could continue looking at other designs and colors. Well, as it turned out, I decided not to get any. However, without thinking, I actually left the store with the sweater tucked neatly under my arm. No bells and whistles started ringing. But, when I very quickly realized what I had done, believe me I hightailed it back in the store spewing my apologies to anyone who would listen. I had visions of my picture in the local paper showing my attempted heist. It makes me smile now when I think about it. But, it really frightened me when it was happening.

The hospital position sounds interesting, and your resume might interest them because of your similar position in a hospital. Hope you hear something from them. About how far would you need to travel from your home to the hospital in PA?

That clever little Danny. He is definitely a performer. He begins to smell those lovely odors of "people food" cooking, and he thinks "hey, that smells a lot better than my food that's made just for doggies". So, he's hot on the trail and ready to do tricks or whatever it might take to be included in the meal. Quite the little character. I'm so glad he has you - and you have him.

Wow, the pictures you've been posting are just gorgeous Karol. You definitely have a knack with your camera. And, you obviously have a knack for growing beautiful flowers too. Nice combo.

We asked our neighbors if they would like to take a drive to a small town north of us and have lunch and then stop for ice cream. They thought it sounded great. Ray, the husband is in the beginning stages of Alzheimer's. It's pretty tough to hear how confused he gets at times. And, it often seems to make him angry when he realizes he isn't getting something right. He has a tendency to take it out on his wife, who, bless her heart, is very patient with him. Alzheimer's is a horrible disease. They will be married 50 years in September, and there is a possibility he may not even know for sure who Bev is. Isn't that just awful and so sad? Bev is very good to him, and he's lucky to have her. He does enjoy going out once in awhile as long as he doesn't have to think about driving. We had lunch and then we stopped and had ice cream cones.

I'll be thinking of you and hoping you hear from the hospital. As you know, I'm on your team and always wishing you the very best there is in all parts of your life. Ruth

Hi Ruth, My mother's name was Ruth. The hospital in PA is about an hour from hear and a little more in rush hour traffic. It is about 20 minutes from where my brothers live and where I hope to move to.

I'm sory about your friend with Alzhiemer's. Ted got confused aboout things because of his brain legions. It was heart breaking. It is very difficult to go through. My prayers are with his wife. It's good that you were able to go out with him for lunch and ice cream. It is good that he has wonderful friends like you.

Love, Karol
