I came home today to find the hole in the stairwell has been covered with drywall and the furring strips are almost all finished in the laundry room. Tomorrow, the tile should be on the ceiling and the drywall needs a little patch between it and the plaster. We should have had this done years ago.

I also had the landscaping service that we sometimes use do the edging around the sidewalks, driveways and along the curb and street. Weeds were growing in the crack between the street and the curb. They cleaned everything up real nice although, they blew the leaves out of my flowerbeds and I didn’t ask them to do that as it damages my flowers. They also cut the grass and I didn’t ask for that either but it looked like it needed it. Especially since Alex cut his yesterday. I did it on Saturday and it hasn’t quite been a week. The front grows tall and thick.

Sat., my brothers will come and do the electrical work and things should be in great shape. I still have to paint the kitchen wall and I may sponge paint the computer room. My friend, Anne told me how to do it. It will give it a texture that will hide the cracks in the wall and give the old dull paint an upgrade without too much work or expense. I don’t know what to do about the bar-b-que grill. The gas leaks so it’s been turned off. I have to dig up the patio to fix it but I might have to do it. If I take it out, I’ll have to dig up the patio. I’ll see what Melissa and Joe think.

Cleaning up the basement will be a big chore, too. I dread it.

I hope to get to bed early so I’ll be taking Danny for his walk now.

Hi Karol,

I love the picture of the Hibiscus with the bee in the center. I know Ted took some very interesting pictures - pictures with uniqueness. I think it's great that you have the pictures with your Grandmother in it. We have so many family pictures too - we hope our children will care for them in the future. Some neat photos.

It's so great to hear you say you like your work. And, doesn't it say something about human nature? On your previous job, you weren't nearly busy enough and the day seemed to go on forever. Now, you're actually working and learning new procedures and you love it. I gather from that that people would much rather feel useful and be learning new things as opposed to sitting at work and not feeling helpful. I'm sorry to say that there are undoubtedly exceptions to that staying busy idea. I'm just glad this job is so much more satisfying to you. And, I'm sure they love having you too. Nice plan for everybody.

Your house is coming along beautifully and nearly ready to put on the market. What a great job you've done yourself and in finding the right people to help you with the things you weren't able to do. And, I bet you do look back and wish that you and Ted had taken the time to do those things years ago. We often have to ask ourselves why we procrastinate? It's a problem for most all of us I'm afraid. The point is you are getting things done. And, you'll feel so much more confident having it shown with the repairs. Great Great Job Karol.

We had a little break last evening from the humidity, but, it didn't last too long. We were at a tennis match watching our son and granddaughter play. And, we were dreading the heat and humidity. We got a few rain sprinkles and lo and behold the temps cooled so beautifully that we enjoyed most of the match in pure comfort. Seemed so nice. Today is very hot again with high humidity. And, another perk was that our son and granddaughter won their matches. Our son Tom and daughter Rachael do many sporting events together which pleases us so much. They have two daughters and Tom and Mary do a beautiful job of parenting both of their precious daughters.

Wishing you a pleasant weekend Karol. Work a little - play a little. I imagine this heat is tough on the animals. Danny Boy will need more rest too. Follow his lead - okay? Enjoy the fruits of your labor. Great job. Ruth
