I just found the computerized house lighting program. It could have bitten me. It was right there in front of my face. I adjusted the hall lights to start to come up at 5:15 rather than 6:15 since I get up an hour earilier than I did when we had our own business. Ted had it set so the lights come up dim and grow brighter every three minutes until 5:30 Then they shut off at 7:30. I adjusted them so we'll see how they do. I also removed the daylightlight saving time that they were set to. Now that I know where it is, I can tweak it.

It was very cold this morning. It read 11 right next to the house and I know it was colder out in the yard away from the house. Danny went out with his coat on this morning. I saw Cami was in the kennel so I took Danny there but Chuck came out to get Danny and take him in the house. Cami had not yet done her business. He spent the day in front of a roaring fire in the fire place. What a lucky dog.

I spent the day in front of my space heater in my office. Everyday, I feel like I've "been rode hard and put away wet." A friend of mine used that expression one time. She comes up with some good ones. Ted and I were at a gathering with her and she made a sarcastic remark about some people being happy at a toad sticking. Ted and I rolled on the floor laughing. We never heard of a toad sticking and we often laughed when we thought of our friend saying that. I've heard of a toad stabbing in reference to a hard rain. Perhaps it is the same.

It's nearly time for Danny to be waking up from his after dinner nap and he will be wanting to go out. I would call this weather a toad freezing.

Hi Karol, I got a nice little kick out of the information your boss wanted and you discovered the info he was questioning was in his handwriting. A little justice prevailed this time.

And, as you said, I certainly have never heard of a toad sticking, but it's funny. My husband is a very witty man and he says hilarious things that are just him. He doesn't work at it at all. When I first met him I wondered if he rehearsed this stuff, but, after 30 years, I can surely see he's a real funny guy at times. Last night, just after watching Larry King talking with some guys about Hillary, Obama and John McCain, he stood up in a very erect manner, crossed his heart and began to say the Pledge of Allegiance in a perfect Donald Duck voice. He was pretending to be inducted into the office of President. I think he is saying, he thinks Donald Duck could do as well as some of the candiddates. It was really really funny. Well, maybe you had to be there to realize how funny it was.

Your temps are surely cold, but, we have you beat on "COLD". It has been zero and below lately, with chill indexes making it feel even colder. We went to the movie the other day and the cold made my skin hurt, especially on my face. It's really really cold around here this winter. And, slippery. I must use a walker and it's really tough to get around when there is ice and snow built up. There have been quite a few days this winter that I don't dare even venture out. My greatest fear is breaking a leg or a hip. So, I'm getting a little cabin fever, but, that's better than sitting around healing a broken bone.

May each day be a better day for you Karol my dear. Ruth

To Ruth:

I have a friend who always wanted to write in "Mickey Mouse" as a better candidate.
