I slipped on the ice at work today. I am OK but have some bruses. I felt nausia as the day went on so went to the company doctor. They exrayed my elbow and it was fine. He checked to make sure I didn't have a concussion. It looked like water beside my car when I got out. i shut the door, turned around and my feet went out from under me. I happened so fast. I landed on my butt and my elbow and my head hit a rubber tire on the truck parcked next to me. The tire saved my head from hitting the asphalt. I checked out OK. The Doctor said to take some aspirin and call him in the morning. Acturaly, he said to take some Alleve and if I get any other symtoms to call him. He said the fall could cause the nausia. It caused my nerve ending damage to flair up with pain. I am afraid I'm going to ache all over in the morning. We're supposed to get some snow over night so I may not go to work. We'll see.

Posted by tedkarol at February 21, 2008 9:47 PMSorry to hear that you took a nasty spill. Praise the Lord that you didn't break something.
It can happen so fast. Like when I broke my wrist last fall. Once you are on your way there is no stopping till you land.
Hope you feel better in the morning but will probably hurt for a few days. So take it easy.
We have lots of ice in our drive and we are very
cautious when we go out. We don't want to end up in the hospital.
Be careful when you walk Danny Boy.

Posted by: Mom & Dad at February 21, 2008 11:02 PMBoy Karol when it rains it pours. I am relieved to hear that you are ok. You have been on my mind all week. I worry that with the bad weather something could happen when you take Danny out at night. But, it would be much better if nothing else happens this winter. I hope you took a nice hot bath and tried to soak out some of the soreness tonight when you got home. It sounds as though you need a day off from work. A long weekend with some rest won't hurt either. Know that you are cared for by a lot of people and keep safe. Do you have a plan if something did happen? Would your brother be called? Would he post to the blog?
Affectionately, Cheryl
Posted by: at February 22, 2008 12:33 AMHi Karol,
Oh boy, am I glad you didn't get hurt any worse than you did. How frightening it is when you start that fall and there is nothing you can do. We usually put our arms out in front of us if we fall forward, just like your mother-in-law did and broke her wrist. Not good at all. But, falling on your butt can make you so sore and achy. I'm just so thankful you weren't hurt too badly. And, like Cheryl said, I hope you stay home today and rest. You need it and you certainly deserve it.
Cheryl certainly made a good point in reminding you to let your company know who to contact in case of an emergency and to ask whomever that is to enter a message on your blog so we know you're okay. Great idea. Love, Ruth
