The forcast yesterday was for Hanna to be heading this way Saturday. Just great. I had thoughts of being grounded at the airport. I just looked at the weather map and it looks like it won't get here until Sunday. I also checked out Yosemite. I have jeans and long sleeves ready to pack. The forcast is for 100 degree weather. I have to get my shorts ready. They may need ironing. Bummer. I will have more to do Friday than I thought. San Francisco weather is similar to here. Cool in the morning and warm in the afternoon. I thought the high Sierra may be cool like it was when I went to the Rockies. In fact, it snowed on the 4th of July.
One never knows.

Thanks fpr sharing the photo of Betsey and her family. She and her awesome Waterpolo Team gave her family and all of the United States a chance to feel great pride. Just think what she will be able to tell her grandchildren. Really a wonderful acomplishment.
Have a wonderful trip to CA. I'm sure you will all have a great time celebrating Katy and her new husband's marriage. I asked Ted & Phylis to tell you hello from me too. Have a great time.
My husband and I and my brother and wife are leaving Thursday to see Mt. Rushmore and then on to Yellowstone Park for a vacation. We have checked the weather in the Yellowstone area and it is rather chilly there, so we'll need to take a combination of clothing - some for this heat and then some for the cooler weather we'll probably encounter.
Have a really great time on your trip. Love, Ruth

We made it! The low today was 60. Two years ago when we were here in August (the coldest month of the year) we just about froze at night. The traffic cops were wearing gloves and scarves. We had to buy jackets and were still cold. (they don't have winter clothing out here) FYI. When are you coming in? We ended up with a mini van as they were out of midsized cars. Are you going to the Saturday reception?
Posted by: Ned Swift at September 3, 2008 11:54 PMWe will be arriving in San Jose at 11:30 am pacific time. We are going to the Tellez's Dinner.
We may have a little hitch though. Hurricane Hanna is headed this way Sat. morning. I hope we can get off the ground before it comes. The rains will start Friday night. We need rain but A tropical storm or hurricane? There are two high pressure areas one to our east and one to our west. Hanna has no where to go but right up the middle, along the eastern seaboard. I'll let you know if we are delayed and call you when we get in. We are staying at the Mermaid Motel in Menlo Park. It was one on Katy's list so she will know where it is.
