It's still bitter cold outside. I went to the church for exercise class but no one showed up. As I drove past the marina, I noticed it was frozen over. Danny doesn't seem to mind the cold. I put his coat on him and he just trots along. He wants to keep going but I get cold so I pull him along toward home.
I went to the bank after leaving the church. I had a problem with the online banking. The power company didn't get my check. I had a confirmation that it was mailed so the lady in the bank checked it out. The lady has a southern accent which reminded me that I am in Dixie. The lady looked into my problem and it appears that my account number wasn't on the check. I don't know how I missed that but I just do not have good luck with online banking. She called the power company and they will search for my check. I have to call them later in the week to see if they found it.
I next went to the Library and found a couple movies. I got the Pink Panther with Steve Martin and The Pirates of the Carribean, World's End. I watched one this afternoon and the other this evening. It was just too cold to do anything outside and I just wanted to hover down under a blanket.with my little dog curled up next to me. I had some pot roast for lunch and crab soup for dinner. They went down well in this weather.
My friend Dottie called this evening and we talked for awhile. I am now ready to crawl into bed, turn on the blanket and read some more of my book. It is Centenial by James A Mitchner.

Posted by tedkarol at January 5, 2010 9:36 PMHi Karol,
It sounds like that is just the place to be - - under the covers with your adorable little Danny Boy. I guess for the most part, dogs don't seem to mind the cold, unless they're left out there for really long periods of time. Our Humane Society is always urging pet owners to put straw in their dog houses or bring them in for the really cold periods. Danny Boy has a good mama and doesn't have to worry about being left out in the cold. And, I think he loves his life with you. In fact, I think both of you are pretty lucky. I know I've said it before, but, Ted knew you would need Danny Boy and he was so right. Even through his pain, he was still trying to plan for you. He was a good man as well as your very best friend.
It's cold here, but, I don't think we're experiencing what you are. Thank Goodness. Always wishing good things for you Karol. Ruth
