We packed up and left Chesapeake City at 8:45 We arrived in Vineland at 10:15. It was getting hot. The car was shaded by the trees so I was able to get it unpacked before it got too hot. At 3pm, it was 100 and at 5pm it was 105 on the bedroom thermometer. The three air conditioners were not able to keep up with the heat. I closed off all the rooms that I could. The livingroom and kitchen are open and it was really hot in those rooms. They have no air conditioners. The bathroom is hot, too. I have been spoiled by last summer when it was cool. I hardly had to use the air. I may just head back to MD after Danny's Vet appointment. Tomorrow is going to be as hot if not hotter. The house will probably be hotter because I don't think it will cool down over night.

Posted by tedkarol at July 6, 2010 10:06 PMWHEW!!!!! You're having even hotter weaather than we are. It seems like the weather patterns are different than when we were kids. Maybe it just didn't bother us then. It sure made me think of the "good ol' days" when you talked about holidays you spent at your grandmother's place. We also used to get together with my uncles. aunts and cousins for any type of celebration. In fact, it seems like it was almost every weekend we would go to their place or they would come to ours. All of them are gone now (that is all my aunts and uncles and beloved grandparents). I still have cousins that I dearly love but we don't get together like we used to. Times have changed!! Holidays make us lonely I think because we remember all of the wonderful times we spent together with all of the family. And, I remember when you and Ted would go to the beach often after getting outside chores done. And, it makes you very lonely I'm sure. And, it makes my heart ache for you too.
We had a wonderful outside church service. It takes a lot of work to get everything ready, but, it is such a wonderful time. We did sing all the wonderful patriotic songs and the voices just boomed with pride and thankfulness to live in our free country. Our prayers were all about the freedom we still enjoy and the high price we continually pay for that freedom. We prayed for our soldiers to be able to come home to their waiting families. We prayed for our government and its leaders. After the service we had a good old-fashioned picnic on the church grounds. Fried chicken and homemade dishes that were brought from everyone. So GREAT!! Then, at our bible study class yesterday, we watched a video of the history of our White House. Our White House is truly filled with spiritual statues, words that glorify God and we learned of many of our presidents and other leaders that were either pastors or doing some type of work for the Kingdom. It made me feel better to know that whatever happens in the White House, spirituality and evangelism from the past, lingers in nealry every corner of it. We got a great dose of patriotism over this past weekend and I certainly loved what I saw and heard.
I rambled on quite awhile, but, I just wanted to share the joy of our church service and our bible study class, where the freedoms of our country, and the price we have to pay to retain it, were honored and remembered.
You still always get so much done even with the heat. I continue my prayers for you Karol. Love, Ruth
