I had some very sad news today. My cousin's husband has inoperable pancreatic cancer. He was like Ted in that he ate well, exercised, and kept himself fit. He is only 56 years old. I just don't understand these things. Please keep him in your prayers. Also keep my friend, Phyllis and her family in your prayers as her mother has passed away.

I didn't do much today. I got a slow start. It was raining when I woke up and Danny didn't wake up until late. I took him out and then went to the bank. I ate my breakfast when I got back. I was on the computer most of the morning.

News from the Vorlon Wife.

Dear Karol,

I' so sorry to hear of the inoperable pancreatic cancer of your cousin's husband. We surely do not know the answer to these questions. I offer my heartfelt sympathy to your family Karol. I do want to tell you of two women in our church that are trusting in our Healing God as their answer. Both women are very strong women of faith and they have chosen not to be afraid. This is not to say they are ignoring their circumstances. One has Stage 4 colon cancer. The other has liver cancer and was given 2 weeks to live. She is doing fairly well 2 months. They are standing on God's promises of healing. Honestly, it is a wonderful thing for our church family to watch them trust in the Lord for their healing. This is not to say they will live - it may be their time to pass. The wonderful gift for all of us is watching the peace of these women - their absolute faith in their Heavenly Father. And, they both can honestly say, with conviction, they are okay with whatever God's will is. They know they have surrendered their hearts to Jesus and will have eternal salvation. And, they are strong testimonies for all of us that are watching these beautiful women continue to live in such faith. They are teaching me to become even stronger in my faith when I must meet the challenge of either a great illness or my earthly death. They can both say with the greatest confidence that either way is fine - they are filled with the promise of Jehovah Rapha (sp), our Healing God as their Physician. We are all just filled with awe watching these women standing strong in the Lord. And, when you think that each of them has end-stage cancers and are doing quite well. One of them is accepting some chemo treatments and the other one is using strictly natural healing and faith. Our church family is standing in strong faith with them also. When they aren't able to be in church, another member stands in their place at the altar and is anointed and prayed for. It's very powerful. I have been asked to stand for one of them two different times. And I feel honored and privileged to do this for this beautiful woman. As I said, I am learning so much through all of this. I didn't mean to go on and on, but, it is giving me pause to think about God's promises and stand in faith expecting to be healed.

However, we'll all have some big questions for God when we meet Him. I have seen His mighty works in so many ways that I feel He will have answers to all our queries. And, I will be in deep prayers for this good man of 56 years of age. And, I know Phyllis has written to you through your blog often, so, of course, I will pray for a healing of her heart at the loss of her dear mother.

We're having so much stormy weather that our TV is out much of the time and tornado warnings are a daily occurence in our area.

I know what you mean about doing things to serve the Lord. It feels so good when there is an assignmet we are able to do for Him. He smiles on you Karol Armstrong. You are a very fine woman of God. Love, Ruth
