Ted's mother's delphinum. I took this when I was out there in early October. I thought it was very beautiful.
I dug up my glads and some other summer bulbs that I thought wouldn't make it through the winter. I lost all my glads last winter. They did fine in Vineland but they were on the southern side. These were out by the fence and must have got frozen.
I rearranged some of the landscaping timbers that were moved when the walk was put in. The contractor placed them where I wanted them but they were crooked. I put some wash out on the line figurring the wind would dry it but some of the clothes blew down. There was a little too much wind today.
My brother is doing well. He went to work for a half day, yesterday and today. I go with him next week for his follow-up visit.

Posted by tedkarol at November 11, 2011 10:16 PMGood morning Karol,
The Delphinium is so lovely. Ted & Phylis' home on Route 66 is a showpiece when driving by. They have always kept their home, yard and all the surroundings absolutely lovely. When we were still camping with Ted & Phylis and many other camping friends, we were invited to their home several times. Everything was always so lovely and they used to do pie baking together and we were the recipients of the wonderful gifts of their combined pie-baking expertise. Also, I remember so well going to their basement and admiring the beautiful woodworking that Ted had done. And, again, they worked hand-in-hand and Phylis would artistically paint the pieces that Ted had made. They were a beautiful couple that enjoyed life to its fullest. And, they shared their talents with many many others. Their yard was an extension of their sweet home.
I'm so thankful to hear that Don is doing better. I'm glad you're able to help him. Again, give him my best wishes for a complete healing.
It's a bright sunny day today, but, we're definitely experiencing the beginning of winter. We had our first snow a couple of days ago. It was a wet heavy snow and even though the trees looked so lovely with the heavy laden snow sticking to each branch, it was still the beginning of winter. Yesterday, we had several errands we had to do and the dampness and the cold made it feel soooo cold. And, it was a little unnerving because some of the snow was falling from the branches and it would hit our van like little bombs. We were a bit wary that some of the branches might collapse under the weight of such heavy snow.
As always I send my love, Ruth

There home was and still is lovely and the flowers are an extension of that lovely home. Thanks you for your kind thoughts of Don. I hope you are feeling better.
Lots of love, Karol
