I went to the church this morning to work on the finances. I didn't feel well all day so I rested the rest of the day. Around 7pm, Danny went and hid under the bed. I thought maybe a storm was coming but there were not any storms around. He must have heard something that scared him. About 7:45 I tried to coax him out from under there. I called him, I whistled, I squeaked his toy, I said, "Walk and Out" but to no avail. Finally, I went to the front door and knocked on it. He came out arunning and barking at the door. I was able to get him out before we had to turn in for the night.

Posted by tedkarol at July 17, 2012 7:39 AMDanny Boy is a lot like Sketter. When he won't come out from under the bed I ring the door bell. Then he comes out barking so I grab him quick.
Sketter is not afraid of thunder or loud noise thank goodness.
A month ago I planted 2 flats of petunias only to have something eat them all off. I never had the problem where I lived before. Sunday I discovered that something had eaten my Aaiatic Lilly. At first I thought rabbits, then deer but now I am sure that it is wood chucks. They have a big hole in the neighbors yard. Now I need to know what to plant that wood chucks will not eat.
Last Friday Sketter was barking his head off. When I went out to check I saw that he had a young wood chuck treed on top of a 2 1/2 -3' yew next to the house. He was finally able to jump up on it also and they were nipping at each other. I grabed the dog and put him inside as I was afraid that he would get bitten and that would mean a trip to the Vet. Then the wood chuck ran off to his hole. I would sure like to know how to get rid of them.
