I almost pulled these out in the spring, I thought they were weeds. It's a good thing I waited to see what they were going to be. Lovely purple cone flowers. I have no idea where they came from but don't look a gift horse in the mouth.
I got my wheels back this afternoon. It's hard to be without one's wheels. I rained all morning so it was a good day to stay home.

Posted by tedkarol at August 10, 2012 4:59 PMHi Karol, Wasn't it just wonderful to watch the Women's Polo team win the Olympic Gold? They are such a wonderful group of women that have become a powerhoue in this sport. Betsey was just awesome in her goal-tending. And, how nice it was to hear the announcer's giving her recognition as well as speaking of her family too. We enjoyed every game they played, but, the last game for the gold was just truly AWESOME. If this is Betsey's last trip to the Olympics, she can feel very very proud of her accomplishments and knowing the team showcased each girl's talents. It was just GREAT!!
Wow!! I probably would have ended up on the moon if I been weeding and seen that snake so near me. I am DEATHLY afraid of any snake. I was washng our picture window years ago and there were big shrubs all around me. My son said he could hear a hissing sound, but, I couldn't hear anything so I kept on cleaning the windows. My son became more and more adamant, so I stopped cleaning and found a stick and poked around in there to prove to Tom that it was all just his imagination. As I was quietly trying to calm his fears, this huge snake emerged. Oh my goodness, I grabbed up Tom in my arms and ran as fast as I could away from those shrubs. A neighbor man came over and lured the snake out and he killed it. Maybe it was harmless, but, all I knew was that it couldn't live at my house. I have a daughter-in-law that teaches Science and she loves snakes and would never kill one. But, she still hasn't convinced me to rescue one and place it in a different area. My answer to a snake in my prescence is that it is not going to live long. I'm sure glad you didn't reach down and touch that snake. They just appear to look soooooo scary to most people.
Hoping all is going well in your world and I know you're glad to have your wheels back. Hope it didn't cost you an arm and a leg. Love, Ruth
