I got up early and drove to Don's so I could go to the doctor with him. When I got there, Danny had thrown up all over the back seat. Luckily, I had put an old mattress pad on the back seat to keep him warn as the car was cold. The chicken sold at the supermarket, is injected with broth. The broth may contain onion or garlic. You can't tell what they put in our food these days.

It has been a year since Don had his surgery. He had a good check up but needs to have a follow-up colonoscopy next Tuesday. I will be going back to take him. I'll go on Monday so I won't have to drive in the horrible rush hour traffic. It was horrendous on the Interstate.

I had lunch with Don and then came home to rest up again. My ear is still bothering me. It feels like it has water in it.

You are so right that we don't know what sort of chemicals they add to our food or what the sprays contain they add to keep things looking fresher. As you said, they inject the meats with chemicals and taste enhancers. The bottom line is that we never really know what we're buying and how safe it really is. I guess you'll need to check the additives when you buy his chicken. He does indeed have a sensitive stomach. He's worth the extra cooking you do for him though. He's so special and he has the perfect mama indeed!
I was feeling really bad for about 3 weeks. It finally hit me that Dave had been buying fresh salads that are already made up in the store. (the reason for this is because if we buy a head of lettuce and tomatoes and all the stuff to make a salad, it would turn bad before we ate all of it). Anyway, In looking at the ingredients listed on the package, it was full of chemicals (to keep the lettuce greener and spray to make the salads look fresher for longer periods, etc). It was awful to think that what you buy has already been heavily contaminated. Ugh! So, then I stopped eating those salads and I began feeling better after about a week. I must have developed an intolerance of all the icky chemicals. Nasty stuff. I always try and buy organic, but, it doesn't always look fresh. I just wish we had a huge garden and could grow our own food. That isn't going to happen though.
Sure hope you're feeling much better today Karol. Ruth
