I took Sparky to the Vet for his distemper booster shot. Poor little guy. He was all excited about going ByeBye in the car. As soon as I make a right turn on Old Telegraph Road, which is a mile from my house, he knows where we are going. I did manage to walk him into the Vet's but he shook the whole time as he was sitting on my lap waiting to go in to the vaccine room. Clinic day is chaos at the Vet. All kinds of dogs and people. Some are checking in for boarding, some for grooming, some for exams but most for shots. My appointment was for 9:45 and we were out by 9:50. I arrived early so there was about a 10 minute wait. The girl had to carry him in as there was no way he was getting down off my lap. It only took a few seconds and he was done.

I took him to the dog park which is near the Vet. He had a good time running around with the other little dogs. There are two parks, one for big dogs and one for little dogs. Sparky doesn't get much chance to run as he is kept on a leash outdoors. We are not allowed to have fences in the park. They think people will put their dogs in the yard all day and leave them barking. Anyway, people put them out on a lead and the poor little dog across the street is out there from morning until late at night, even in the rain. It barks all the time. It wants to go in.

Sparky tired himself out chasing the little dogs.

After we got home and had some lunch, I studied my music for the Christmas Concert and went to the grocery store. I had gone on Friday but when I got home, I had a message on my phone to make something for Rita's son's funeral. I wish I knew before I went to the store as I had nothing to make. I went back to the store this afternoon to get some mini pumpkin rolls to take. Rita is our organist at church. Her 22 year old son was killed in a motor cycle accident. The service will be tomorrow at the Town Point Church. The church is part of our Charge. The two congregations merged together but we still have the building. Rita went to Town Point and her son did, too so they wanted the service there.

It is bitter cold today. I got out my long winter coat with hood. I didn't wear it to the vet though because the chairs are full of dog and cat fur. I usually wait until after Thanksgiving to get the coat out as it is red and looks Christmasy. I have a long white coat I wear in the spring and fall. I use brown scarfs in the fall and pastel scarfs in the spring. But it's my Mrs. Santa Clause Coat for this weather.
