My neighbor's sassafras trees. They were a brilliant red this year. This was taken in late October. The leaves are down now except for the oak trees.
When I was walking Sparky early Saturday morning, my neighbor, Alice, came running out saying "Boscov's is having a sale on shoes today. Buy one pair and get another for $1.99." So off we went to Boscov's. People were waiting to get in before 9am. Everyone was there for the shoe sale. I thought it would be ciaos but Boscov's had it well organized. One line was to take the shoe you'd like to try on. The were many salespeople to take you name and size. Then you were directed to another line and almost as soon as you got there, they had your shoes ready for you. I found a check out counter with no one in line so I could check out quickly. They gave Alice the wrong size so I took it back for her and got the right size. She is having back problems so I told her to wait in the chair.
I got a pair of brown boots and a pair of black sneekers. I put them away for Christmas. I buy myself presents for under the tree. I also found a gift for my sister-in-law, Sylvia.
Monday, I went to my brother's. I left Sparky at his house and went to my cousin, Jan's. We went to lunch and then to visit my Aunt Jean in the Assisted Living Place. She was well but Jan had some concerns. She had a perm that did not turn out. It looked like nothing was done so Jan had to straighten that out.
Tuesday, I took Don to the surgery center for his check up. Everything turned out to be fine and I thank the Lord for that. It was a miserable, rainy day. I made good time driving home and rested in the afternoon. I went to Choral practice at night. It was still dark, dreary and drizzly. Sparky's sweaters and harnesses are hanging in the laundry room to dry.
