Up and out with Sparky at 5:30. When I hear him get up, I take him out as he has to do his business first thing. I watched an Alfred Hitchcock movie that I started to watch last night and fell asleep. It was on this morning at about the same point when I fell asleep. I did another load of wash and got ready for Bible Study. After the class, the church secretary and I looked in the safe and found that the deposit had not been made. All the paper work was done but I had to make out the deposit slips and take it to the bank.
I made an appointment to have the oil changed in my car on Friday. I took Sparky to the Vet this afternoon. He was really hyper sniffing all the places where many dogs had been. The assistant took done his information from the shelter and took Sparky to have a blood test for Lyme disease so he could get his shot. When the Vet came in, he examined Sparky and gave him his shot. He said the Lyme disease is prevalent and he has seen so much of it. Another assistant clipped Sparky's nails. Sparky didn't like it. The Vet and I had to hold him. I didn't think his nails needed clipping. It was complimentary and I think the assistant was new. I asked the Vet about Sparky's bark in that it sounded like he had a sore throat. He said maybe he's hoarse from doing a lot of barking at the Shelter. I hope that's the case as he really has a funny bark.
When I mentioned to the clerk, that I had a credit from Danny. She said, "Danny, was he the one with the ears."
Sparky was still hyper while I was waiting for my bill and the K9 Advantage. When we got in the car, he laid down and went to sleep. He was exhausted. He laid down when we got home.
Sparky has a good appetite. He gobbles down his food and wants more but doesn't get any except for some treats.
It was 60 degrees today but is now raining hard. I hope it lets up so I can take Sparky out before we go to bed.

I got up early and took Sparky out. He likes going for walks. I went to exercise class and then helped with the newsletter. After lunch, I did a load of wash. I went to Choral Society practice. Sparky seems to be doing well when I leave him by himself.

There was a little snow on the ground this morning. I took Sparky out and he enjoyed walking in the snow. It's a good thing it wasn't any deeper, he would have scooped the snow in his face with the cone. I made an appointment with my vet for his physical exam. It is required as part of the adoption agreement. Maybe they will say I can take the cone off. I have his medical records from the shelter and we'll see what else he needs. Probably Lyme disease shot, ticks will be out in March and it takes a couple weeks for the shot to take effect. I also called and confirmed his chip registration.
I called my friend, Dottie. She'll be coming down tomorrow. She has a trailer at a resort near me and the storm in June brought a tree down on her roof. She had a temporary repair and it didn't hold up. Her sone found the roof leaking so she's going down to take a look.
I tried calling Ted's mother but got a busy signal all day. Once the call started ringing but there was terrible static. I called her grand daughter and she said an ice storm brought down some wires. I think Phylis has her phone through the cable company so it's possible the cable line came down. I think she has a cell phone but I don't know the number. It may be in my computer that's not working.
It will be a busy day tomorrow. I have exercise class and the church secretary called and asked me to help fold the newsletter. Dottie is coming and I have Choral Society tomorrow night. I don't like leaving Sparky for too long. I have to take him outside often so he won't have an accident in the house. He had one tonight. He was running around the kitchen and I thought it was because he smelled my soup cooking. It may have been that he had to go. I better get him out before we got to bed.

The cone is to keep the dogs from biting at the stitches. I bought one for Danny but didn't have to use it so was able to return it. The vet put the cone on Sparky and said it had to stay until the stitches came out. Since I have to take him to that vet, I thought I'd better keep it on. I could take it off for him to eat but I'd never get it back on him. He hardly sits still for me to put on his coat. He is calming down a little today.

The photo of this church was taken Christmas Day on our way to my niece Tina's. I don't remember where it was but somewhere in Pennsylvania, north of Maryland and south of Coatesville, PA. I forgot I had taken these photos.
I went to church this morning and it was the first time I left Sparky on his own in the house. While I was scraping the ice off the car, he had jumped up on the top of my love seat and I was afraid he would fall off the back and get hurt as it wasn't against the wall but out at an angle. I put cushions up so he couldn't jump on it. I worried the whole time I was in church. Ursula wasn't there so I had to take care of the offering with Tucker. Kim, the financial secretary was in the office so she helped Tucker and I was able to go home. Sparky met me at the door and I saw the cushions on the floor along with the afkan. What a little turkey. I pushed the love seat up against the shelf so he wouldn't fall off the back. I think he is part Siamese cat. He climbs up on the arm of my sofa sniffing for food as I have to keep my coffee cup up there. I saw he had knocked over my grandmother's photo. I am going to have to child proof my house or rather dog proof it.
He really gives me a workout on our walks. I have shin splints or at least, my shins are sore. He goes full steam ahead. I don't have to run but I have to walk a fast pace. It should get me in shape.
I talked to my brother, Don and Cheryl and Ed stopped in for a few minutes with Ethan. Sparky seemed to like Ed and Ethan. He kept sniffing them. He liked Cheryl, too but he kept going to Ed and Ethan. Maybe he could smell their dog, Belle on them more than or Cheryl. They were on their way to my nephew, Rick's so I had them take the dog cage back because Sparky can't fit in it with the cone on his head.
Sparky met a couple more neighbors today on our walks. My friend, John was out. Danny liked John and his wife Carol. Sparky liked him, too. He also met Marlene, he petted him maybe a little too roughly and he growled at her. She didn't know why he had the cone on his head so maybe it bothered his stitches. She told him she was sorry and he seemed to be OK. Then he met a teenage girl named Jamey and liked her. Jamey gave a little talk in church today as part of her confirmation training. She is cousin to the boy named Trenton. She and her sister were adopted by her grandmother and the three children live with their grandmother and Trenton's dad.
It looks like it's dinner time.

We got about an inch of snow. It wasn't as cold today, it was 19 degrees. Sparky is coming along. He has a lot of puppy in him. He likes to, play and go for walks. He met two of Danny's dog friends today, Barley and Bambi. He also met my neighbor, Barbara. Barbara thought it was Danny. I hadn't seen her for awhile as she had a busy working schedule. She wondered why Danny had a cone around his head.

The Stars of Bethlehem were taken in Vineland in 2006. Nothing is blooming here with frigid temps. Snow storm warning is in effect for 4pm through 1am Sat.
I got Sparky late yesterday afternoon. He had two speeds, sleep and run. He had surgery for neutering and has to wear a cone collar for 10 days. He spends his time trying to get it off instead of marking his territory. He had one addident in the house after I had him out twice. I have to watch him constantly. He seems ready to go out now.

It was 10 degrees this morning. Brr! I went to Bible Study. I tried to open the shed and the door was frozen shut. I had to use a pry bar to get it open. The adhesive on the security alarm on the door dried out and it fell off. I'll have to take some goop to it. I put the rest of the plastic containers away. I still have wreaths on the windows and candles in the windows. I guess it's time to take them out as the batteries have run down in some of them.
I called my aunt Jean and talked for awhile. She is looking into going to an assisted living home but hates the thought of moving and she loves her condo. She is just so very lonely there with no one to talk to and most of her friends have passed away. One of her sons lives nearby but he works long hours and one of her daughters lives about an hour away. The others live far away.
I got out Danny's things that I had put in a plastic container. The leash, harnesses, blankets, toys, dishes, grooming items, coats, and sweater were all taken out and examined to see if Sparky can use them.
I did bundle up and walk down to the mailbox. It never got above 20 today and has been 15 tonight. I worked on the puzzle, watched the westerns and finished off the soup and had some of Ruth Orrell's biscuits.
News from the Vorlon Wife..
It was cold this morning. It looked to be about 18. I wrapped up in my robe and blankets, watched the news and weather with my coffee. Had some breakfast and Liz called saying that exercise was canceled. There was about a half inch of snow on the ground. I had some more coffee and watched a western on the television. I started another puzzle. I did some wash and went outside, scrapped some snow off the steps and cleaned off my car. I took my DVD back to the library and got a quart of vegetable beef soup for lunch and supper. When I got back, the SPCA had called saying I was approved for Sparky. I called back and they said Sparky would be scheduled to be neutered on Thursday and I could pick him up after 3:30. I said, "OK and asked about Sparky's history. He was a stray so they did not know anything about him and no one came to claim him. What a shame. Well, he'll get a new home now. I have choir practice on Thursday but I'll skip it this week and get Sparky settled in. We have another practice on Sunday morning.
It only got up to 21 degrees today and it quite a jolt from the 60 degrees a few days ago. I spent the afternoon shredding documents from our business. I found some things from 1994 thrown in with 2004. A lot of emails from Ted that made me sad. I feel like I'm shredding our life. I still have a lot more to do. Each year, another box needs to be shred is a box and a half here in the computer room and more boxes in the shed. I have to go through them because they have employee ss numbers and customer's credit card numbers on them. It is a slow process and I only do it once in a while.
I did not go for a walk today because of the cold and wind. I did get my long down coat out to wear. When I went in to JoJo's for my soup, I said, "I, I'm Nanook from the North."
I have an extra day to get ready for Sparky. I put Danny's things in a plastic tote so I have to go through and see what I can use for Sparky. I hope Danny's coat and sweater fit him as it is cold this week.
I called Ted's cousin and left a message. I also called my mother's cousin, Joy. I had gotten a letter from another of my mother's cousins so I thought Joy would like to hear about it. Joy and I share so many family memories and she is so loving and caring.
I have Choral Society tonight. Nancy won't be going so it will be just me and Joan. It will be cold when I get home tonight so I'm blogging now. This room get cold.

I went to the church this morning to meet with Ursula and pay the bills. Most of doing it is OK but sometimes I don't have a clue as to what accounts things go to. I talked to the Property Manager for the Mobile Home Park. The Animal Shelter had already called. She told them I was an awesome pet owner and they told her everything checked out fine for me so they should be calling me tomorrow. If so, I'll see if I can pick up Sparky on Wednesday. I have to go to Choral Society practice tomorrow night and I don't want to bring Sparky home and then run out for a few hours. I want him to get acquainted with me and his new home before I have to leave him alone here.
After lunch, I went to my nephew's. My brother, Rick and his wife Sylvia were there. They had a catalog to give me. My nephew, Rick's wife, Michelle, lent me a dog cage to a couple weeks for when I bring Sparky home. I'll put him in it when I go out until I see how he behaves when I not here.
Ted's mother called me. She told me Ted's cousin, Carol has cancer and is on hospice. She lives near Baltimore which is about an hour from where I live. I was sorry to hear about Carol. She is only in her 50's. We talked for awhile. It was good to hear from her.
This computer acted up when I first tried to turn it on. It did not log on and then it was difficult to turn it off. I tried it again and it seems to working not. It seemed odd when I turned it off last night. I have three other computers that are not working. Two are from our office and the other is my desktop. I guess I'd better order a new one.

Here is a photo of Sparky. His one ear is sticking out sideways like Danny's. I'll have to take a better look. When I was there, his ears seemed like my nephew's malteze dog.
I went to church and Sunday School this morning. Cheryl is sick so they were not at the second service. When I got home, I went for a walk and met a neighbor boy, Trenton, who walked with me. I told him about Danny and my applying for a new dog. He said they have 3 pets; two dogs and a rabbit. He just got his hunting license last fall and he told me about his bow and arrow. He is a real nice boy of about 10 years old. We go to the same church and he is always willing to help out.
I made chili with rice last night for dinner and had some for lunch and will have some more for dinner. I have a quick easy recipe. I use Salsa and mix in some ground meat and kidney beans. One time I felt like having chili on a cold winter day but had no onions or peppers. I saw the jar of salsa on the shelf and figured it had onions and peppers in it so I gave it a try. It is quite tasty and it works for me.
I have a church photo on my camera but forgot to download it. I'll use it next week.

I went for my walk to the mailbox this morning. I had to take a letter to be returned. It was for someone who lived here years ago. I talked with my neighbor, Rex, on the way to the box. He has a cute little dog named Barley. He was Danny's friend. I told Rex about the dog I applied for at the SPCA.
I went out and weeded my iris garden after it warmed up some. The weeds had gone wild. I had done all the weeding in the fall but the mild weather caused the weeds to grow. I sat on a mat and wore glove liners under Ted's gardening gloves. I have to get the hoe out and clear out the grass that has grown in the trench I dug for the water to drain out from in front of my driveway.
I worked some more on my puzzle and finished it at lunchtime. Hooray!
I packed up the outdoor Christmas lights. I had unplugged them but wanted them to dry off before putting them away. We had so much rain and damp weather that they were dripping with water for a couple weeks. We had another sunny day today. It started out cold but warmed up in the afternoon.
I went to the library and got a movie but I watched Encore Westerns all night. I have the movie until Tuesday.

One of my violets that Ted took years ago. My plants are not doing so well here. They don't get enough light. It has been over cast for weeks until today. My solar lights haven't been coming on. I did see one shinning brightly this evening.
I got up early and worked on my puzzle for a bit then I ate and went to the church to help Ursula to fold and stuff envelopes for mailing the offering statements for last year. It took longer than we thought as the windows in the envelopes were for checks and didn't line up for letters. We figured it out but had to make four folds instead of three. I had some lunch when I got home. I bought some soup from the Fellowship dinner last night. I had one of Ruth Orrell's biscuits with the soup.
After lunch, I drove down to the Kent County SPCA meet Sparky. It was about a half hour drive through rolling farmlands and a couple small towns. He ran around sniffing everything in the play yard. He hardly paid any attention to me until I sat down. Then he came over and stood on his hind legs with his front paws on my leg. I went to put him up but he barked. I don't know if he was barking at me or the other dogs in the SPCA who were barking up a storm. It looked like they had a lot of pit bulls. Sparky sniffed them all as he went past their cages. There were also a couple beagles and lots of cats in the cat area.
Sparky is white with black nose and eyes. I'll see if I can copy a photo of him and paste it in. His fur was cut short which means it was probably matted or maybe it was just groomed short. My neighbor keeps her Bishon groomed short. I forgot to ask his background. Whether he was a stray or why he was there. I filled out the application and should here from them next week.
On the way home, I took a photo of a church and stopped for gas at the Royal Farms in Cecilton. It was $3.299. I don't know whether there is a cheaper price or not but others along the way were five cents higher. I had trouble getting the pump to go. I tried three times and it just wouldn't start. I went inside and the clerk came out to help me. She got it going but I didn't see what I had done wrong.
When I got home, I walked down to the mailbox and it was cold. One of my neighbors stopped me to talk and I got cold standing there. I don't know why she wasn't cold, she had no coat on. It had been mild for weeks so the cold was felt more. It was also sunny today. I had to wear my sunglasses on the drive down to Kent Co.
I worked on my puzzle some more before dinner. It is really a tough one.

I went to exercise class this morning and then was supposed to help Ursula fold some letters but she wasn't able to make it. It was just as well because I was beat. I don't know why I felt so tired all day. Maybe because we had another gloomy day with no sunshine.
I called the SPCA down in Kent County about a little dog I saw on the Petfinder site. He is part poodle. His name is Sparky. He is white with a black nose and eyes like Danny Boy and weighs 15 pounds. Danny weighed 13. He is about 3 years old. I hope to go down tomorrow to fill out the paper work and meet Sparky. We have a winter storm watch in effect so we'll have to see.
I went to the Fellowship Dinner, Bible Study, and choir practice. I plan on getting to bed early tonight.

I got up early. I usually get up early. I made my coffee and then worked on my puzzle. I had some breakfast and went on my laptop. I checked Carbonite as I thought my subscription had expired. It turns out I had a three year program and I am OK until December 2013. I am planning to get a new computer and will need to retrieve my data from the Carbonite backup system. I'm not quite sure how it works but I will have my work cut out for me loading all my programs. I called Lifelock as I haven't received any emails from them since I called and told them of my email change. It seems they had reversed the email address so all is OK now.
I went to my Bible Study this morning and then home. I rearranged my furniture after having moved it during Christmas for the tree. I arranged my house plants and did some vacuuming.
I dumped another 1.1 inches of rain out of the rain gauge. We are really tired of the cold damp rainy weather. When is the sun gonna shine?
I will be watching a Doris Day Western in a few minutes. Off to make a cup of tea and settle down on the sofa.

I went to exercise class this morning but didn't go to breakfast with my friends. I had a dentist appointment so I went home, changed my clothes and went back down town to the dentist. Dr. Phillips knows a lot of my friends so I felt right at home. It seems I've come to know a lot of the people in this area in a very short time. Most has been through the church. It is the center of the community.
When I came out of the dentist, I went next door to JoJo's and got a quart of beef vegetable soup for lunch and dinner. It hit the spot on this damp, cold day. I dumped another half inch of rain out of the rain gauge. I worked on my puzzle some more. It is coming slowly. I went to my Choral Society practice this evening. I am tired out.
News from the Vorlon Wife.
It was a busy day. I worked on my puzzle, I put some of the Christmas things away, did some computer work, and called Ted's Mother. I ran around catching stink bugs. This mild weather has brought them out. They are so disgusting. I usually have to catch one in the kitchen just before I have to eat and the smell is so gross.
I went to the Finance Meeting at the church to go over the last quarter. It went well. We broke even for the year and that is good since we are a non-profit. I stayed a little late because we had to go over the Pastor's salary. There is a very complicated way of computing it and we had made a mistake. We finally got it straightened out.

I went to church and Sunday School this morning and then off with my niece and her family to a birthday party for Ed's niece. Haley is a cute little girl; she just turned 8. She looked so happy and enthusiastic about all the gifts she got. She studied France in school so she had a Parisian motif. Her cake had an Eiffel Tower that her father had printed onto sugar paper.
We stopped at my brother's so my niece could give her mother her Christmas gift that had to be returned.
It's been a long day. I am ready for a hot cup of tea and watch Masterpiece Classic.
News from the Vorlon Wife.
I went for my early morning walk and then worked some more on my puzzle. It's rather difficult with green and black being then only colors. There are several shades of black and numerous shades of green with some pieces having green and black intermingled.
I spray painted a picture frame white for a lighthouse painting to go in my nautical room and I taped up the head and tail of an aluminum eagle and spray painted the head and tail white. It was all black and it hangs on the outside of my house. I thought the white head and tail would make it stand out.
I sprayed the green moss or algae that is on my siding with the Tilex with the bleach formula for mold and mildew. It works pretty good. I got brand X at the dollar store. One dollar is a lot better than paying $100.00 for someone to power wash it. I have to get the ladder to get up higher and then go over some spots that I missed. I was amazed at how much had built up. I guess the mild winter has kept the things growing. My flower gardens need weeding. Go figure. The cold is coming maybe the end of next week.
I made some chicken soup for my dinner and had some bread sticks that I brought home from the Olive Garden.
News from the Vorlon Wife
I took this photo in November but the snap dragons still have green leaves and foliage. I saw some crocus leaves coming up; they are about two inches tall. They weather has been mild but it is still damp and chilly.
I went to Elkton today. I needed to get a birthday gift for a little girl. I thought I'd get a book from the Art Store but they were closed for inventory. I went to K-Mart and the books seemed to all be fro boys. I didn't want to get a toy since Christmas had just past. I saw a cute little jewelry box with a ballerina that spins around while the music plays. I thought she might like that.
I went into the dollar store and got some things and then to the Acme for some milk and butter.
I worked some more on my puzzle. It is a hard one and just when I feel discouraged, I find the piece I had been searching for. I still have a lot to do. I put a couple photos of my great aunt's farm into the new frames I bought. I need to hang them up. I wonder if I can trust the commando hooks? I'd hate to have them fall off the wall.

I went to exercise class this morning and then to breakfast at JoJo's with my friends. I saw my cousins, Bob and Jane having breakfast there, too. The restaurant is a lot busier now the Jack and Helen's has closed.
When I got home, I got a few things and went to Middletown. I exchanged a couple picture frames I had bought at Wal-Mart. I had gotten the wrong size. I also got a few items while I was there. I got some more suet cakes for the bird feeder. They were $.97. They were putting out their garden supplies. I also got some bathroom cleaner that gets rid of mold and mildew. I sprayed it on my siding. It was getting green with moss or algae. It bleaches right off. I also went to AutoZone to get a headlight for my car. I had the guy put it in for me. When I got home from my Verizon training, I drove down to the mailbox and my neighbor told me the light was out. No wonder the road seemed extra dark.
I worked some more on my puzzle. It is coming along pretty well now.
I will soon be off to choir practice. I wanted to blog early as Masterpiece Mystery will be on late tonight.

I worked some more on my puzzle. I get a few pieces but it takes so long searching and trying all the different pieces. I guess I'll do a few a day. I took my morning walk and went to Bible Study Class. When I got home, I had some soup for lunch and did a load of wash. I put some of the Christmas things in a box. I'm not ready to tear the shed apart, get out the containers, bring them into the house and put the mower back into the shed.
I fixed a couple things. I got out the glue and glued the handle to my letter opener. It was always coming unscrewed. We'll see if it holds.
This evening, I went to the Verizon class for how to use my Android Tablet. It's amazing what all it can do. I don't know how anyone could understand all the applications it offers.
I watched the Guns of the Magnificent Seven. It looks like I missed The Return of the Magnificent Seven. Maybe it will be shown again. They are having a marathon of the 4 Magnificent Seven movies. I saw the first on the weekend. Maybe the second one was last night. I'll have to go online and look at the schedule to see if it will be on again.

Back to the routine. Exercise class in the morning and breakfast with my exercise friends. I worked on my puzzle a little. It is slow going. I did a few chores around here and then went to the Choral Society first practice for the spring concerts. I only knew one of the Songs; it was Do Re Mi from the Sound of Music. There were several adaptions of Opera. Nancy and I both felt they were hard.

I didn't do much today. I went to the church and finally found the cord for the calculator that dropped behind the desk. I taped it to the desk so it wouldn't fall down again.
I put the Ovoid puzzle away and took out another. This one is even harder than the other. It is a big green leaf with black backgroud. I got the outside edges done but the rest is a challenge. I put it together many years ago but I don't know if I can do it this time. All the pieces are similar in size and shape. I may just put it back and try it next New Year's Eve. I have a lot of my routine activities coming up. Exercise class starts tomorrow and so does the Choral Society.

The Baptist Church on Naamans Road north of Wilmington, DE.
I finished my puzzle this morning. I went out for my walk around the block. It seems strange to walk without Danny. When I walk the short block on Bethel Road, I walk up on my neighbor, Bob's lawn so that cars going by won't think I'm walking into town. Bob told me to walk up on his lawn when I was walking Danny. The traffic on Bethel Road can be quite fast.
I went to the Library and got a couple DVD's and did a few chores. It was nice and sunny today and it lifted the spirits in contrast to the dark and gloom it had been. I went to a program at the Historical Society. It was on the Mason-Dixon Line. I live about a mile from the line with Delaware and it's about a 25 minute drive to the PA line. It was interesting that the train going from Philadelphia to Washington stopped after it crossed the Maryland state line that all the people of color had to move to the back of the train. It seems so hard to believe we had such a dark history in the "Land of the Free."
While I was at the Historical Society, my phone rang. I couldn't answer it as the program had begun and it was packed with people and I couldn't get out the isle without disturbing all the people. I called my niece after the program was over. Her mother in law was visiting and they were going to the Olive Garden. I was very near the Olive Garden so I met them there and had a nice dinner. When I got home, it was still early so I was able to watch the two DVD's and then the "Magnificent Seven" on Encore Westerns.

This basket of greens I put on Ted's grave for his mother. In looking at this photo, I discovered where the bow came from that blew apart in the wind storm. I didn't see any missing off my wreaths and didn't realize it came from the basket. I discovered it when I looked at the photos I took of the cemetery.

I went to the Emissions Station and Praise the Lord, my car passed. I went in Redner's to get milk and eggs and came out with $65.00 of groceries. I worked some more on my puzzle. I still have some more to do.
I have choir practice tonight. I don't feel like going out in the cold but it will be good to see my friends.
Cheryl just called and she was able to get the slippers exchanged. I'm glad for that.

I went to Blble Study this morning and then did a couple errands. I took the DVD back to the library and went to the bank. I dropped my slippers off at my niece's so she could see if they have my size in a store in DE. I hope so I hate to see her loose money on them. I went for a couple walks today. One in the morning and one in the afternoon. It is strange walking without Danny but I feel it's good for me to get out in the fresh air.
I had to put some more caulk on the kitchen cabinets. I don't know if it shrunk, I missed or if the stink bugs ate holes in it. I once caulked up the windowsill where Ted and I used to work and the ants ate a hole in it and came in.
I worked some more on my puzzle. It's coming along.
News from the Vorlon Wife.
I got a couple little projects done today. I caulked up the area around the kitchen fan over the stove and cut and painted some moldings to go around the large cracks of the fan and wall. I was hoping it would stop the stink bugs from coming in. They come down the vent pipe and into the space between the ceiling and roof. When I turn on the oven, they come out but I'm not sure from where. Sometimes, they just seem to appear out of nowhere as if they'r beamed in. I glued the weights back into the shower curtain liner. They had come out when my cousin was using the back bathroom and she must have thrown them into the trash and didn't tell me. She had the shower curtain on the outside of the tub and the water got all over the floor. When I went to clean after she left I found mildew stain on the molding between the tub and the floor and the tile was lifting up. Everytime I see it I cringe. I glued a pin closure onto a brouch that had broken. I found the pin closures at Michaels.
I took a couple walks today. One in the morning. Without the dog with me, someone stopped and asked if I needed a ride into town. I said "No, I just walking around the block."
I worked on my puzzle some more and I baked my ham and sweet potatoes for my dinner. I also made a chocolate roll with the left over pie crust from my brother's pie. My mother always made chocolate rolls with the leftover pie crust. Somehow, hers tasted better than mine. You roll out the pastry and sprinkle it with cocoa and sugar. Most of the time, I burn it but today it turned out OK.
I watched some DVD that Don had given me last year and worked some more on my puzzle.
News from the Vorlon Wife.
Payless was having a sale on athletic shoes so I ran out to buy a pair. They had several styles to chose from but only one fit properly even though they were made by the same company.
I tried to take back a pair of slippers that I got for a gift but Fashion Bug is going out of business and while you could exchange for size, it had to be the same color and of course, they didn't have any red ones. Bummer!
I stopped in the Acme to get a few things. I wanted to get one of the hams that had the pineapple and cherries on it but they didn't have any. I got one that looked similar in shape but I don't think it has the fruit on it. I can put my own on. This ham is an Amish brand. I hope it is good.
I got out a puzzle to occupy myself on New Year's Eve. I put on the DVD that I got at the library only to find that I had seen it before. I'm glad I had the puzzle. It is a difficult one. One can't play board games by ownself. I got in bed about 11:30 and put the TV to watch the ball drop. I was reading and then heard Kaboom. I looked up and saw 12:00 displayed on the TV with Aude Lang Syne playing. I missed the ball drop. There were gun shots and fireworks going off for 35 minutes. I went out to see if I could see any but I couldn't. I did see someone setting off Roman Candles down the street. It sounded like a thunderstorm here sprinkled with what sounded like a cannon going off. I don't think the year 2000 had such a celebration of noisemaking.
Happy New Year to all my blog friends.
