I went out to do some last minute errands. Unable to find one of a dozen ice scrapers or the de-icer spray, I was on my way to Auto Zone when the rain starting leaving splats on the windshield. It was changing over to snow. I hoped I could get done before it got bad. Next was K-mart. I need a couple more set of green tree lights so I could decorate on Friday. My little trees gets bigger every year. No green led lights. Bummer! On to Redner's to get some groceries. By the time I got done , you could see the rain mixed with snow and I had to scrape the slush off my back window and put on the defrosters.
It was mostly rain for the rest of the day. I had 3 wet dog sweaters and 3 pairs of wet gloves hanging in my laundry room.

Busy morning. I went to Home Depot and got some new locks for my doors. I chose a double set so the key could be used for both front and back doors. I went in Walgreens and then to the tropical fish store. I got 4 platies and a placo plus some food for them and a bubbler. I took down my aquarium before I move here and I just put it back up. Two of the platies are blue and white, one is bright orange and black and the other is pale orange and white.
After lunch, I put the new locks in. I got them because I lost my door keys and even though I retraced my steps, I couldn't find them. They came off my lanyard while walking Sparky. Usually people turn in lost keys to the manager but no one turned mine in. I didn't want someone coming in here using my keys to gain entry.

I went to church this morning and sang in the choir. Our organist was still away for her son's funeral. We don't know if she is coming back. She is from West Virginia. We sang without the piano or organ this morning. Our substitute piano player just had surgery so she wasn't able to fill in. I suggested to our choir director that the choir sit up front to lead the singing if we do not have an accompanist. She thought it was a good idea. Advent is next week and then we get into Christmas.
It was warm so I decided to put my outdoor Christmas lights up. Not to turn them on but to get them ready before it gets cold. My little trees grow each year and I have to get more set to cover them. One green set is out on the Alberta Spruce so I have to get three new sets for it as I am unable to fix it. It also has about 10 bulbs out on the sets that work. I can take them off the set that doesn't work. The other bush needs two set to cover it. I did trim it but it still is bigger than last year.

Sparky and I visiting Santa at the Chesapeake City UMC Christmas Bazaar. He was a good boy sitting on Santa's Lap.
I worked all morning at the bazaar, went home, got Sparky and came back. He was all over excited with all the people and the smells of food from the kitchen. I took him home afterward and came back, got some lunch and took it out to watch the pet parade. I took some photos with my phone but I couldn't see what I was taking because of the glare. Who knows what they will look like.
I went back in and helped serve the food. I saw my niece come in with her husband and Ethan to see Santa. He is 3 and this is the first year he was not afraid of Santa and sat on his lap.
I went back to serving food and buying some more things. Someone bid on our old exercise tapes for $12.00 and several people bid on my hairdresser's package for $40.00.
I came home tired out and was laying on the sofa thinking about having the vegetable beef soup I bought and realized I left it in the frig at the church. Out I went again.

I went to the church to do some financial work. Stacks of bills were waiting for me. On the way home, I took a Choral Society Poster into my hairdresser and asked if she would like to donate a gift certificate to the church bazaar. She was happy to and filled a gift bag with hair products. The bazaar has a silent auction and people write down there bids. The money goes to support our Youth Ministries.
I took it back to the church and spruced up the bow on the basket the ladies exercise class donated.

Brrr! a cold morning with wind. I had some flowers blooming on Monday but all are gone today except for the big mum I got at my friend's greenhouse.
I went to the church, helped Laura, my new assistant enter the deposits and bills. She is very good with the computer and with accounting. We got done in time for me to join my exercise class and then, it was off to Staples to get toner for my new printer. I got a double pack with black and color and an extra black as that was the one that was empty. I got the ones with 2.5 times the toner that the original. Seemed like a good buy.
I went in Big Lots and got a few things. I got another sweater and a coat for Sparky for his Christmas present. I also got a few groceries and some Christmas decorations. I spent more than I planned on but Big Lots and the Dollar Tree always have such neat stuff.
I went to Choral practice. It's getting close to concert time.

What a horrible cold rainy day. We got about 2 inches of rain. Good thing it wasn't snow as it would have been 2 feet. It's a good thing I bought Sparky a couple new sweaters at Concord Pet when they were on sale. I had to put a dry one on each time I went out. I had dog sweaters and my gloves hanging all across the laundry room.
I went to the bank and got the deposit receipts for the church and then went to the church to see what needed to be done. I paid one of the bills and sorted the rest so I could help Laura, my new assistant do them tomorrow.

I wanted a winter scene for my church posting so I chose the Lake Odessa United Methodist Church in Michigan. This is my Mother-in Law's church. I took the photo while visiting one winter. We got a little rain here on Friday but it snowed to the north and west of us. Some neighbors said there were flurries here but I was asleep at the time. There was .2 inches in the rain gauge.

I took Sparky to the Vet for his distemper booster shot. Poor little guy. He was all excited about going ByeBye in the car. As soon as I make a right turn on Old Telegraph Road, which is a mile from my house, he knows where we are going. I did manage to walk him into the Vet's but he shook the whole time as he was sitting on my lap waiting to go in to the vaccine room. Clinic day is chaos at the Vet. All kinds of dogs and people. Some are checking in for boarding, some for grooming, some for exams but most for shots. My appointment was for 9:45 and we were out by 9:50. I arrived early so there was about a 10 minute wait. The girl had to carry him in as there was no way he was getting down off my lap. It only took a few seconds and he was done.
I took him to the dog park which is near the Vet. He had a good time running around with the other little dogs. There are two parks, one for big dogs and one for little dogs. Sparky doesn't get much chance to run as he is kept on a leash outdoors. We are not allowed to have fences in the park. They think people will put their dogs in the yard all day and leave them barking. Anyway, people put them out on a lead and the poor little dog across the street is out there from morning until late at night, even in the rain. It barks all the time. It wants to go in.
Sparky tired himself out chasing the little dogs.
After we got home and had some lunch, I studied my music for the Christmas Concert and went to the grocery store. I had gone on Friday but when I got home, I had a message on my phone to make something for Rita's son's funeral. I wish I knew before I went to the store as I had nothing to make. I went back to the store this afternoon to get some mini pumpkin rolls to take. Rita is our organist at church. Her 22 year old son was killed in a motor cycle accident. The service will be tomorrow at the Town Point Church. The church is part of our Charge. The two congregations merged together but we still have the building. Rita went to Town Point and her son did, too so they wanted the service there.
It is bitter cold today. I got out my long winter coat with hood. I didn't wear it to the vet though because the chairs are full of dog and cat fur. I usually wait until after Thanksgiving to get the coat out as it is red and looks Christmasy. I have a long white coat I wear in the spring and fall. I use brown scarfs in the fall and pastel scarfs in the spring. But it's my Mrs. Santa Clause Coat for this weather.

Friday Flower Bloggin'
My mums are still looking good and I have some other flowers but they won't be blooming for long. We've had a few frosts but the next week looks like it will be below freezing. Some of my family who live north just a little north of me got snow yesterday. It felt like it was going to snow but we got a fine mist of rain.

Mums the Word at the Amish Farmer's Market in Elkton, MD.
It's been a busy week. I went to my brother's on Monday and had lunch with my cousin and aunt. Tuesday, I took my brother to the surgical center for a procedure. Everything turned out OK. He has to go every year now since he had cancer to make sure it doesn't come back. I drove home in the afternoon and went to Choral practice Tuesday night.
Wednesday, I spent the morning at the church doing the month end finances. I had a lot to catch up on since I was gone two days. Thursday, I went to exercise class and then back into the church office to do more work on the computer. It was pouring rain and I had to take Sparky out in it. I had to put on his sweater so his chest and belly would stay dry and then his raincoat over the sweater. He still got his head and back end wet as well as his paws. He does not like getting dry. He growls but licks my hands and put out each paw for me to dry it. He just doesn't seem to like getting dry. He doesn't like the towel. Perhaps someone beat him with a towel. He was a stray and strays are usually abused.
I went to the supermarket in the afternoon and it poured rain again. It didn't let up until about 4:30. After supper, I went to choir practice. We are get ready for Advent and Christmas.

So wonderful to hear from Ruth.
This church is in Mackinac City, MI. Don and I were touring the Upper Peninsula of Michigan a few years ago and we stayed in Mackinac City.
I was the lay reader in church this morning. I didn't get the program ahead of time but all went well. I sang in the choir and after walking Sparky, I will be off to the Ecumenical Tea.

I went Trick or Treating down town Chesapeake City with my grand nephew, Ethan and his family. The people in the homes and shops dressed up for the occasion and their homes and shops were decorated with jack-o-lanterns, ghosts and monsters. We had a nice time. The people were all so nice. Afterward, we went to my nephew, Rick's so they could see Ethan. Ethan is 3 and he would say Trick or Treat and then Happy Halloween and Thank you to the people.
