Some of the trees that came down in the back yard.
I came home from the Lenten Service Wednesday night. I took out Sparky and found at least three trees down in the back yard. No damage other than the trees and the clean up that needs to be done. One was from the other side of the stream making a bridge across it. One was lying along the stream and the other across the back yard that took down another. Branches and monkey balls blown all over the place. A part of my skirting was blown off the top track. My neighbors skirting was blown off the bottom track. Other neighbors had there's blown off laying on the ground. My neighbor said she heard things banging on her roof and found it was the monkey balls aka gum tree seed pods.
Anyway, it was a nice service at the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. My pastor gave the message. Our choir sang "In the Garden." Before the service, the ladies of the church served homemade soup and bread. Their specialty was Borsht, a soup made of beets along with their bread.

Yes, they are blooming. They finally popped out Saturday. They buds have been ready for a couple weeks but it snowed and got cold so they waited for warmer weather. So nice to see them.
Remembering my dear husband, Ted. 03/03/1945 - 02/22/2007
It's hard to believe he's been gone 9 years. I miss him so much. I miss the life we shared together. February is such a difficult month for me. My mother died 02/09/1991, my father died 02/19/1997 and Ted died 02/22/2007. I'll be glad when this day is over and I can move on to happier days. My brother's birthday is Thursday and my sister-in-law's birthday is March 2nd. And it's time for spring.

Wow! I didn't realize how long it's been since I blogged. I spend so much time on facebook that I don't get to my blog. I will try to be more faithful. One problem is posting photos takes several steps. With facebook, I can just pull the photo from my files. With the blog, I have to resize it and save it for the blog and then post it. Sometimes, I have to use Photoshop and then save it for the blog.
Sparky and I got back from our walk just in time before the downpour. I will be going with my friend, Alice to her doctor appointment in Belair, MD, then to lunch there and then to Havre de Grace, MD to get our clocks from the clock repair shop. I had my coo coo clock repaired. The last time, I had it done at a place in DE and it came back worse then when I took it in. They also screwed up my watch when they put in a new battery and did nothing to fix my anniversary clock. I was afraid to take them back as their work was so poor.
One never knows when one will get back when going out with Alice. I hope I get back in time to take Sparky out. I don't like to ask Robin to take him out in a rain storm. It's supposed to rain hard today with high wind.
